Systemising the predictable so you can humanise the rest.
Supporting trainee counsellors to build sustainable, creative practices rooted in humanistic values.
Becoming a counsellor is one of the most rewarding — and at times overwhelming — paths you can choose. Safe Chaos exists to help you navigate the complexity without losing your humanity in the process.
We work with trainee counsellors who want to build practices that are genuinely sustainable: systems that hold the admin, the paperwork, and the structure — so that when you're with a client, you're fully present.
Because the world needs counsellors who aren't burned out. It needs you, at your best.
We embrace innovative approaches tailored to how your brain actually works.
People first, always. Your growth as a practitioner is deeply personal.
Nothing exists in isolation. We look at the whole picture, not just the parts.
Structure isn't the enemy of creativity — it's what makes it possible.
Founder & Lead Chaos Architect
Hi, I'm Talie — founder of Safe Chaos, 20-year health and social care veteran, counselling trainee, and late-diagnosed ADHDer who has made peace with the beautiful, productive mess that is her brain.
The name Safe Chaos wasn't invented in a boardroom or a strategy meeting. It was born in a counselling room — my own. My counsellor apologised for the state of her space, surrounded by Lego collections and art materials, and called it chaos. I looked around and felt something completely different. This isn't chaos, I told her. This feels like Safe Chaos. And just like that, something clicked into place.
Because that's what I'd been looking for — and what I now know so many trainee counsellors are desperately searching for too. A space where the mess is allowed. Where you don't have to have it all together before you show up. Where the chaos of becoming a therapist — the self-doubt, the identity questions, the placement overwhelm, the theories that won't stick — can exist without shame, and slowly, steadily, transform into something powerful.
My 20 years in health and social care gave me a deep understanding of systems, people, and what it actually looks like when someone is struggling and needs a different kind of support. My late ADHD diagnosis gave me something else entirely — a profound respect for the fact that brains work differently, and that the systems we build need to work with those brains, not against them.
I specialise in supporting trainees through placement and practice hours, building organisational systems that actually fit your brain, navigating your identity as a developing therapist, and the kind of supervision-adjacent thinking that helps things make sense before they're supposed to.
Safe Chaos is my philosophy and my lived experience. You're allowed to be in the fire. I'll be right there with you — and I know the way out. 🌀
Coach & Chaos Translator
Hi, I'm Debbie — psychology graduate, soon-to-qualify counsellor (July 2026), and someone who knows exactly what it feels like to be in the fire furnace of counselling training.
I didn't just study this path from the outside. I walked it myself, and I watched others walk it too — brilliant, passionate students brought to their knees by overwhelm, buried under theory they couldn't connect to real clients, drowning in the admin and the self-doubt and the sheer volume of it all. I felt it. And then I discovered something: helping other students find their footing — breaking down the chaos into the next needed step, reframing a concept until it clicked, building an organisational system that actually fit their brain — lit me up in a way nothing else did.
Safe Chaos resonates with me deeply because to me it's a philosophy as much as anything else — a soft landing pad where you're allowed to be messy, to test things out, to let the chaos loose without fear or risk. Because when there's genuine safety, chaos doesn't stay chaos. It becomes creativity. It becomes momentum. It becomes you, thriving.
I have a deep love for counselling theory and research, but don't worry — I wield it in plain, everyday language that connects directly to real clients and real situations. I'm endlessly patient, I'll rephrase things seventeen different ways until something lands for you, and organisation is genuinely my creative playground. Whether you're drowning in your placement hours, lost in a theoretical framework, struggling with skills practice, or just need someone to help you see what to do next — I'm here for all of it.
No judgement. Ever. Just someone who's been through it, came out the other side, and genuinely cannot wait to help you do the same.

Safe Chaos completely changed how I approach my placement. I went from drowning in admin to actually being present with my clients. The systems we built together are still things I use every single day.
I was so close to quitting my course. The coaching helped me understand that my brain works differently — and that's actually a strength, not a flaw. Completely transformative.
The group programme was worth every penny. Not only did I get brilliant practical tools, I found my people — other trainees who truly get it. I feel so much less alone in this process.
